Dec 6, 2015 · I have an icon for iMovie in my Applications folder and it is the one that tries to open the v10 of iMovie and tells me I need to upgrade. I also have a folder labeled iMovie 9.0.9 that is just a folder icon, not the star with the movie camera in it.

Dec 7, 2011 · If the icon appears to be in the dock, but is not, it may actually be on the Desktop. The desktop is a folder just like everything else, so you can go to the Finder and see if the iMovie app is in the Desktop folder.
