Nov 2, 2021 · 1. eGPU (Probably Razer Core) and external dock (Thunderbolt 3 or even just USB(?)) Given my research so far, I think this would be the best option. Considering my peripherals, I think I could also just get a USB, non-thunderbolt hub and do pretty much all the same things for much cheaper, but I still might have to do more research on this.

Jun 1, 2022 · Sometimes the eGPU stays on consuming ~25W indefinitely. So there is certainly some firmware tweaking that needs to be done. Booting up with the Lenovo dock and EGPU attached gets everything working great. hot plugging without having previously booted up with both the Lenovo and eGPU attached is a crap shoot.

Nov 17, 2021 · @stefan_m_, Adding an eGPU enclosure alongside the Surface Dock 2 will work just fine. Power Delivery will be from the Surface Dock 2 because it has higher PD compared to the enclosure. You will lose some eGPU performance when graphics acceleration is through loopback mode to power the two monitors connected through the Surface Dock 2.
