Feb 10, 2012 · During the American Civil War Centennial Val Forgette, owner/operator of Navy Arms, had a reproduction of that sight made in Italy. Since the only reproduction long arm at that time was the Navy Arms Remington Model 1863 Rifle, aka "Zouave", the sight was marketed as a "Zouave Sniper Sight".

Aug 25, 2012 · It came out in 1975 and does predate the McAfee book so is one the the first important uniform books covering Zouave uniforms. Not sure everyone would consider this an essential Zouave uniform book.

May 4, 2010 · The "Zouave" is a mixture of 1841 rifle with just a touch of 1855 rifle blended in. The Fayetteville is, (for all practical pourposes) a U.S. 1855 rifle, they were built on the same machinery used to make the 1855 rifles, (not to be confused with 1855 rifle muskets, a different creature) captured at Harper's Ferry in 1861.

Adjustable rear sight for Springfield or Zouave
Oct 11, 2011 · Does anyone make or sell an adjustable rear sight for them? Just looking at tuning them in, to find the spot to drill on a normal blade. I know you can't use an Adj sight for shoots before someone busts on me..... Was thinking about building one that has a slide with a peep sight for elevation but not sure how to work the windage.
