After a recent update, I cannot zoom in or out in Word documents. Documents are stuck at 49%. The slide in the lower right corner does not move, cannot type in different zoom percentage. When trying to access zoom using the menu, there is only an option for seeing multiple pages, does not give option for zooming. Help?

Jul 10, 2022 · As Doug wrote, you can re-add the Zoom slider to the status bar, if it is missing. On the other hand, if the Zoom slider is present but grayed out, go to the View tab and click the Vertical option in the Page Movement group. This will turn off the Side to Side option and re-enable all options that relate to zooming in Word.

May 17, 2020 · MS Word is regularly freezing so that I can't scroll or zoom out. What's strange is that the vertical scroll bar (or the zoom bar) is clearly moving up and down, but the document itself remains stuck on a single page and doesn't move. If I click on "file" or I minimise and then maximise the window, the problem goes away, but only briefly.
