A good zonk, especially at battalion level or higher, is way more satisfying than just telling guys not to come in, imo. I lived off base, but whenever it happened I would just run and hide with my dudes who lived in the barracks. Aug 23, 2021 · I've seen people ask what does "Zonk" actually mean when Top raises his thumb and pointer finger, and real quietly says "..zonk.." while pretending to squeeze your skull from a distance.

ZONK=unscheduled which means technically its not a DONSA, just a super short work day which (usually) requires less approval. This means ZONK is a tool used by leadership to give a day off on the low.

When they let you know the night before so you don't waste your morning getting up, dressed, drive in, stand in the cold in shorts when it's obviously cold enough for pants, then saying zonk.

Mar 25, 2014 · Zonk is like christmas for Soldiers. You get up for PT like normal, go to formation, do your accountability, then, depending on your commander, fall in like you're going on a run.

Jul 3, 2018 · Zonk gets you out of PT; a DONSA is a day off. Though I always (at Bragg and Drum) heard it referred to as a "training holiday;" I didn't hear DONSA until I got to Alaska.

My buddy from 1st bridge 10th mountain said a few years ago I believe they did a brigade zonk and there was a few car accidents lol. I can’t image how that turned out for an entire division.
