Zheng Bo invited twelve artists, scientists, activists and gardeners to form what he has termed the Wanwu Council. He asked them to channel the voices of light, plane trees, water, bees, foxes, weeds, seasons, soil, histories, communities, spirits and microbes.

ZHENG Bo is learning how to live a good life on planet Earth, a life that is ecologically just, vibrant and beautiful. Plants are their teachers: ferns in Taiwan, mosses in Scandinavia, grass trees in Western Australia, date palms in the Arabian Peninsula.

Since 2014, Zheng Bo has been running “A Wall” (www.awallproject.net)—a web platform for documenting and presenting new public art projects. The platform’s first stage encompassed six new public art projects from the Mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Responding to the neo-classical architecture of Somerset House that surrounds its courtyard, Zheng Bo invites visitors to temporarily disconnect from their fast-paced, hyper-connected lives by spending time sketching in the garden.
