Nov 25, 2010 · Here is the difference: Zaleplon is structurally similar to benzodiazepine but it lacks certain properties. It is often called a Z-benzodiazepine. The difference is that benzodiazepines are "non selective" to the GABA-A receptor and have anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), muscle relaxant and hypnotic properties.
