The physical difference in the Z31 front crossmember is pictured blow. The top is NA and the bottom is Turbo, down is towards the front of the car: The oil pan swap is needed only for the oil return fitting that came on turbo oil pans.

There are several plenums available for your Z31. The stock plenum is generally regarded as not being a very good design in terms of flow capacity and hence limits the power output of the engine.

The stock Z31 fuel pump (same for NA and Turbo applications) will have trouble keeping up fuel flow at anything over ~300 crank HP. A Z32 TT unit or Walbro 255lph for a 240SX will work and supply ample fuel for 500HP.

It is only a component of the integral/internal wastegate system which Z31 are equipped with from the factory. The stock (and most) actuator mounts to the compressor housing and serves to open the internal wastegate flapper itself via a rod and lever combination.

OE Z31 fuel system configurations by year. I compiled this information in the hopes that someone might find it useful for ECU/injector/O2 sensor swap information. As these are the only major differences in the Z31's stock engine management, this should be what you need to figure out if a particular configuration will work for you.

I had to remove the NA downpipe (hacksaw) and put the engine back in the car. Getting the engine back in was much easier with the front bumper cover and bumper removed.
