Milled m70’s lack these numbers except for the grenade sight and pistol grip. Stamped m70’s only have a numbered pistol grip. I use this system to identify early-made parts. 1. Receiver types

Yugo M64 Decisions | AK Rifles
Apr 19, 2010 · I bought one of the earlier Yugo M64's from Apex a couple of years ago. I wanted to go the reweld route, but the muzzle swallowed the bullet, and I had a problem sinking that much money into a rifle that was well past it's prime. I wanted to build it to like new, so I purchased a virgin M70 barrel, and a press and pin M64 receiver from ORF.
M64 Yugo Receivers? - AK Rifles
May 23, 2021 · I bought a M64 yugo parts kit from Apex a while back which came with approximately 2/3 of a fixed stock receiver. I have done a few now and have yet to be able to get the welded area and parent metal to take cold blue the way I really want it.

M64 vs. M70 - AK Rifles
Aug 9, 2008 · I believe M64 is the earlier model milled Yugo, sort of like type 2 whereas the M70 is like their type 3. The rear stub is supposed to have a different stock attachment, but many of the kits that came in shipped with regular M70 rear stubs. They are also supposed to lack the lightening cuts on the receiver if I recall correctly.
