Jul 8, 2019 · So, I was looking into the Yklwa IRL and I was curious as to why, in 5e, it is classified as a thrown weapon when it was actually used as a stabbing spear? I agree with the piercing damage but I don't see how it is a thrown weapon in game and a stabbing weapon IRL.

Jan 7, 2018 · So if you're from the place where yklwas are so common that basically anyone with any sort of weapon training knows how to use one, you'd treat it as simple, but otherwise you'd treat it as martial. Alternatively you could just replace the trident's stats with the yklwa's stats, if you felt inclined to do so.

The Yklwa is available to more classes, costs less and can also be thrown, so why would anybody choose the Warpick over the Yklwa?
