Jan 19, 2023 · MIC Gain has to be cranked up beyond normal when using Yaesu M-90D desk mic even with all the mic settings tuned using an oscilloscope. Tuner is the antiquated one apparently borrowed from the FT-991; adequate but will not handle very high VSWR and takes too long on some bands to tune (My old MFJ929 does better).

Aug 19, 2017 · Yaesu marketing was brilliant, In the incipient phase of Fusion, Yaesu decided to allow clubs (initially) and later individuals to purchase the Fusion DR-1X system including a FT-1DR HT and FTM-400 mobile for $500 including shipping provided certain requirement were agreed to. Later only the repeaters were sold. They flew off the shelf!

Oct 12, 2021 · The KMC-32 that came with the V71A and G710 compared to the Yaesu and Icom mics is much more robust and a much more solid mic. The new version of it is KMC-62 , which is even better. In fact, they do sell it, as they did the -32, on the commercial/pub safety side, too, for folks who want a 16-button mic instead of the 12 like the KMC-66.

Jul 6, 2017 · I can confirm that the radio DOES NOT NEED a SIGNALINK, or similar soundcard device. However, the USB cable does not carry the audio. Oct 12, 2021 · The Yaesu 7900r was one of the easiest installs of my life. Perfect from a ease of use, ease of install perspective. For the company to say it is always a debate on the microphone being connected to the control head or separate from the control head I would think that’s not necessarily true.

Jul 6, 2021 · Plenty of output, I keep the mic gain down to 15 on my FT-857 mobile and close talk about an inch with the mic sideways about 30 deg. The case gets discolored after a while, but I don't care. Works for me. At home on an FT-891, I've been using a Behringer XM-8500 ($20 mic) on a boom. I opened up the transmit bandwidth to 2.6 and get great reports.

Apr 1, 2017 · This type of MIC need something in between the radio, like a small mixing console or maybe the box you talk about. Aug 19, 2017 · Using the old MD-1 Yaesu microphone and EQplus for compressor/limiter and downwards expander i don't use the FT 991A compressor, just the EQ settings. All bands are getting noisier, specially 160 where i mostly am, and having the noise fighting abilities of the FT991A makes life and listening a lot easier.
