I have a friend who bought an 891 in 2019 and when I went to do the mod, the arrangement of shorted pads from the factory was different from the photos online.

Jun 17, 2009 · This is my second FT-891. I posted the modification procedure, as it is a different technique than the usual soldered pads. Radio will transmit USB on 11 meters fine, it's when you want to operate LSB. In order to select LSB, you have to fidget around in the menu to do it. Once your on LSB, it'll default back to USB if you touch the VFO.

Jun 17, 2009 · Yaesu was Zero help for either of us & we were both happy when we no longer owned the antennas. He was using the original 857 & both of us also were happy when those radios belonged to somebody else as well. I have sworn off Yaesu radios & antennas forever at any price since they have been far from desirable to me.
