The Yaesu FT-450/AT Firmware is now available on Yaesu's website
Oct 1, 2012 · Yes, I tried HRD and PCC-450 from Yaesu Going to try PuTTY next and see what's going on. BTW, in the PDF file that comes with the firmware upgrade there's specific instructions on how to use the 60m privileges. Also, use a real serial port if you can for the upgrade. I tried USB and virtual serial ports and the upgrade failed in the first step.

ICQPodcast Episode 239 - Yaesu FT-450D Review Released
Jun 13, 2017 · Under some conditions the 450 is a bit of a "mumble box" due to the up-convering architecture, and the wide 10kHz roofing filter which lets strong adjacent signals in causing distortion due to intermods and a reduction in sensistivity. I don't get the bashing, it is what it is.

Yaesu FT-891 Review: A Sleeper of a Deal - QRZ Forums
Jul 6, 2017 · The Yaesu FT-891 is a steal of a rig, for the price. You're getting the newest technology from Yaesu, packed into a footprint slightly smaller than their dwarf powerhouse, the FT-857. True, you're giving up VHF/UHF, but we're living in a time when capable Chinese radios are $25, and low-end Yaesu VHF/UHF HT's are approaching $100.
Over-the-air test: Yaesu MD100A8X vs Stock MH-31A
Mar 6, 2017 · There's another Yaesu hand-mic which uses a condensor element that provides much better (more neutral?) audio output. I think the model is MH-67A8J. It sounded great with the FT-450. HRO sells it for around $25 now; and you can also import it in from one of the Chinese auction-style sites. I think I paid $12 for mine.
Yaesu REVEALS the FT-710 AESS HF Ham Radio - NEW for 2022!
Jul 9, 2022 · the yaesu ft-710 has no roofing filter, i guess, nowhere on the yaesu page it says that it would have a roofing filter. so i think it will have problems with stronger signals that stuff the whole frequency range and deafen the receiver, similar to the icom ic-7300. i would then rather have the icom ic-7300 instead the yaesu ft-710, because that ...
Yaesu FT-450d Question. | QRZ Forums
Sep 7, 2019 · I don't have a 450 but instead use a IC7410. I have a couple of those little cheap temperature sensors and use one in the xcvr and one on the PS. I operate FT8 frequently at 50% power and the rig heating seems to be a non-issue. My ambient temp is around 28C most of the time and the rig doesn't tip 40C. The power supply is a different case ...
What Should be your FIRST Ham Radio? | QRZ Forums
May 10, 2021 · With these factors taken into consideration, I would suggest one of the following: the Icom IC-V86, the Kenwood TH-K20, or the Yaesu FT-65R. In other countries which have much more logical power-restricted as opposed to band-restricted lower license teers, something like a Xeigu G90 would probably be the best low-cost option.
