Apr 16, 2008 · This is a question that gets asked often but there's never really been a comprehensive reference for the info. The info here applies to hubs from any YZ model used in a YZ400/426/450. Thanks to Bob Russell at RTR Precision Wheel Lacing for helping collect this. Here's how it works out: Front Wheels:
Electric start YZ450F - YZ400F/426F/450F/450FX - ThumperTalk
Nov 7, 2004 · A yz, as far I know, is a high compression engine n ya really gotta drive your foot through to start it. A lot of people drop their weight to lighten up the thrust or just cause it needs the beans! My YZ is a starter if ya done it right but sure af ain't no Vee-Touch
Right oil for my yz450f - YZ400F/426F/450F/450FX - ThumperTalk
Feb 1, 2015 · The problem comes when the oil is used in a transmission. The gearbox imparts a very heavy shearing force to the oil, and works to physically shred the large molecules of the polymer additives so they no longer prevent the thinning of the oil with heat, and you can end up running a oil that is really a 5w-20 in a surprisingly short time (as little as 2 hours run time) if …
2021 YZ450F TURBO/w E85 Build - ThumperTalk
Feb 22, 2021 · Well the whole turbo thing is actually pretty common in the snow bike world. As those guys are racing at a much higher altitude with less dense air.. the turbo is more so used to re-gain efficiency that the engine loses because of it. The KTM’s and YZ’s are actually some of the bikes those guys turbocharged successfully as well. So for ...
2003-05 YZ450F User Jetting Database - ThumperTalk
Apr 29, 2005 · I'm happier now with theses changes versus the mid summer specs with the cold weather. Just an occasional pop when chopping the throttle, generally happening when the track is just watered. The bike feels faster in the cold weather. I can't wait to ride a 450 at sea level. Runs better with the 38 pilot jet at 65 degrees. Summer specs:

Yz 250 vs Yz450f, what is the power difference? - ThumperTalk
Sep 4, 2009 · The 450 makes so much torque everywhere! Its hard to be in the wrong gear on a 450, but the torque is a double edged sword. It can be intimidating, and hard to use. I think the 450 likes to go where it wants more than the other two. A really good rider can make the 450 do what the rider wants, but I always feel like I'm a step behind on the 450.
YZ450F Vs. CRF450 - YZ400F/426F/450F/450FX - ThumperTalk
Apr 9, 2004 · I had an 03 YZ450 and had to sell it for financial reasons. I loved the bike. When I was able to buy another bike I tried out the CRF 450. It was a good bike, it looked nice, but didn't have the power, handling or suspension of the YZ. I ditched the CRF 450 and bought a CRF 250R in search of lighter weight and better handling.
