Adol Christin (アドル・クリスティン?) is the main protagonist of the Ys series. He is an adventurer and a swordsman who has a knack for arriving at the right place at the wrong time.

Ys IX is the first Ys game developed primarily for a home console since Ys V: Lost Kefin, Kingdom of Sand on the Super Famicom in 1995. Ys IX pokes fun at how Adol loses all artifacts from previous games, and his continuous boat accidents.

Jul 23, 2021 · Ys 9 probably shows the most personality from Adol. More than that, it shows that he has not changed at all in 7 years and we love him for it. He started out as an idiot who decided sailing a storm was a good idea.

Thanks for the explanation that's a pretty cool concept. As soon as I saw Adol on the box art I figured that wasn't really him he just looked way to different.

Apr 10, 2022 · Adol is a very good example of a "silent" protagonist in that he's only partially meant to be a self-insert because he has a character all of his own. More than that, when he has an intended character trait, the game makes sure to show it rather than just tell it. Ys 9 is probably the best demonstration of this. Some spoilers here.

While imprisoned in Balduq, Adol is cursed and becomes a Monstrum. With his newfound powers, he must stop the Grimwald Nox from consuming the city.

Jan 23, 2023 · The Crimson King is just another red-haired guy named Adol who happened to be caught at the same time as the usual Adol. It's a total coincidence and they actually have no relation.

The reason Aprilis chose Adol in the beginning is that she already knew that he was a clone, but she also understood that Adol was a very skilled warrior that would have the best chance at freeing the others from the "curse".

I get that the recovery items can be used in the prison dungeons sequences but will prison Adol get to use money, or will it someday be transferred to my main money pool somehow? Thanks

His many encounters with omnipotent individuals somehow enabled Zola to imbue Atra with incredible God-like abilities.
