Sep 11, 2003 · This is a pretty basic outline for jetting on the YFZ450. These settings are for sea level if you are anywhere from 1500ft to sea level these settings should be very close to right on. Anything above 1500ft should lean the settings accordingly. Also, as a good adjustment you should raise the idle rougly 10 steps on the knob.

Apr 9, 2009 · Ah, ya. I forgot to mention the narrowing of the frame and the lengthening of the a-arms on the 450R. Thanks for pointing that out. The YFZ450 already handles VERY good. In reality the 450R may handle a bit better, but it's not going to help you gain those extra spots in a race. Rider skills will still be what pulls you through the ranks.

Nov 30, 2008 · Hey everyone new to the site...well kind of I lurked when I was running my KFX400 looking for parts! Anyway, I picked up an 04 YFZ450 for a good price so here I am. My question is how important is the oil mod or oil upgrade? I don't race but I do got to the track from time to time and we do quite a bit of long weekend trail rides.
