Oct 6, 2024 · Basically, I turned compositing off by disabling it: XFCE Settings > Window Manager Tweaks > Compositor > Uncheck "Enable display compositing" Finally I was able to login to my Xfce session without having to delete the ~/.config/xfce4 directory! I have now been up and running normally for over 1 week.

Jan 16, 2025 · 2 days ago the xfce4-weather-plugin was working correctly and last night I opened it and it said "no data". I tried updating everything but the plugin only goes as far as version 0.11. 0-1 on my system, despite this it has always worked fine.

With Linux Mint Cinnamon I set the fractional scaling to 1.5x and everything is perfect: As you see the text is crisp and perfectly rendered. Feb 27, 2015 · That's odd. I don't need to add gksu or anything to run network manager applet be it under XFCE or fluxbox and openbox. And I'm using Ubuntu 14.04. I just use "nm-applet" command for it not pointing to the specific .desktop file on the sessions/startup settings and files and enabled gnome services under XFCE.

Aug 17, 2010 · Maybe it would be good if xfce had some sort of checking mechanism implemented to avoid saving crippled sessions. Users do make mistakes and will keep making them. The moral for me is not to allow any user to do anything more than the indispensable tasks .
