Feb 5, 2021 · The XBR88 has infinitely more class than the FS120. They're really hard to find and unique that they're one of the only curved Trinitrons with component input. And the built-in motorized stand is freaking awesome.

Mar 30, 2020 · The KD-34XBR960 is one of the best HDTV CRTs, as for SDTV CRTs, I'd say the XBR88 fits the bill, it's curved (flat CRTs are incredibly prone to geometry issues), has component, and it's a Trinitron. If not, the JVC D-Series are solid curved performers, the best bang for your buck.

May 15, 2023 · Are the XBR48 and the XBR88? I wanted a Trinitron that was 27" or less, curved, and had component inputs. But apparently that doesn't exist? Picture of the XBR88 for reference. I believe it is. Next best option is to look for a nice condition curved screen with a documented RGB mod like some of the S42 models.

XBR is a line of LCD, OLED, Plasma, Rear Projection, and CRT televisions produced by Sony. According to Sony, XBR is an acronym for eXtended Bit Rate, although there is evidence that it originally stood for "Project X, Black Remote" which was meant to distinguish it from the then-standard line of Sony televisions. Then there's a bunch of cool ones from the 90s, including the only curved Trinitrons with component, the KV-32XBR48 and KV-35XBR48 (and XBR88 versions, which are the same, but with built in motorized console stand). OP's is either a KV-36XBR200 or a KV-36XBR250.

Unlike the previous chassis, all signals go through a processing stage that adds lag, but you can bypass the processing for 540p/1080i by changing service menu option "HDPT" to 0. This set was also among Sony's first have a digital signal input.
