Jun 19, 2019 · I've got an '08 Vstar 1100 that had similar backfire issues. Performed carb clean, valve adjustment, new spark plugs and carb sync. While syncing the carbs (using vacuum gauges) it suddenly started running very rich (dark exhaust from both cylinders) and then died. I couldn't get it re-started.

May 19, 2016 · stock intake vance and hinds, mains should be 115, stock pilots 17.5 ok, the needle should be set at stock groove. your not increasing any more air into the motor so you don't need anymore fuel... with the pipes you will get a lean condition at full throttle so upping the mains one size is safe. i'm unsure if the 93 is the actual octane …

The rebate on the 1100 is larger, but I'm guessing that is because the 1300 is cutting into its sales- a base 1300 is only $1500 ( a few bucks a month) more than a loaded 1100, so I bet a lot of people go in for the 1100 and come out with the 1300.

Aug 22, 2008 · Hey guys, I bought a new 2006 v-star 1100 and one day after Rolling Thunder in DC I left off the throttle and got "the Noise". Only 18,000 miles. Turned around and drove home (only 2 miles) took it to local dealer. Said, $3,000.00 for a total rebuild but he would give me $500 on a trade. What an ass. Sad but true.

So very little back pressure. I have removed the factory intake and have installed pods. Removed the ais system. I am having trouble Jetting the carbs.

May 17, 2020 · V-Star 1100 Wiki Knowledge Base - 1 New Owner "MUST READ" Section idle should be 950 to 1050 kinda high. if its to low the oil doesn't get to the valve train.plugs should be light almost white from ethinol. you may have a partial blocked pilot jet.
