Aug 29, 2017 · Yes, XGen can now be referenced but with core XGen it is only stable in its first reference, by that I mean you can make your groom in the model file and reference that into the rig but when you try to reference the rig you will start to get issues because of the namespaces.

Sep 12, 2023 · It depends on the studio. Smaller studios who don't want to pay for things tend to use Xgen, and they didn't care if I used Core or IGS. At my current bigger studio they have their own proprietary grooming software. But the general vibe is that if you know how to groom in a couple different softwares, they'll trust that you can learn a new one.
