
Würm (band) - Wikipedia
Würm was a sludge metal band started in 1973 by bass player Chuck Dukowski, who would later join Black Flag. They released one LP on Greg Ginn 's SST Records and some tracks on compilations. They were active from 1973 to 1977 and from 1982 to 1983. [1][2]

Feb 1, 2008 · The SST roster at this time was particularly incestuous, with original BLACK FLAG bassist Chuck Dukowski playing in both SWA and WURM. The original SST cassette was over 80 minutes long, so in order to format the compilation for CD, two songs were cut.

Sep 28, 2007 · Chuck Dukowski's Wurm, featured in its second incarnation on this comp, shows SST recording, Sabbath-influenced metal that allowed The Duke to show off his bass mastery/savagery. While Wurm wore its influences in the open, Overkill would be one of the first groups to head in the newly emerging thrash direction.

Würm prefigured Chuck Dukowski's tenure in Black Flag; he reformed the group temporarily in 1982 and cut a belated LP which SST issued a few years later. Feast features the gallingly awful singing of Dead Hippie's Simon Smallwood but, in fairness to him, is pretty dire all by itself.
