Find & improve your location’s accuracy in Google Maps
If your blue dot's beam is wide or points in the wrong direction, calibrate your compass. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app . Make a figure 8 until the beam becomes narrow and points in the right direction. You only have to do this a few times.
