Aug 11, 2022 · Just because a job requires a clearance doesn't mean you'll ever use it or ever see the inside of a SCIF. I know people (like myself) who haven't actually used their clearance in many years. Others I know only see the inside of a SCIF once per week, for example. I don't know anyone who currently spends 40 hours a week in a SCIF.

Oct 26, 2021 · Its rough working shifts in a SCIF. Try to take mini breaks to get yourself through it- say you're there 6a-6p, take a short walk at 9, lunch at 12, walk/break at 3, then home at 6. Taking it three hours at a time and helps. Also so does reading when things are slow it shootin the shit with my coworkers

Aug 12, 2023 · (You might not have internet access inside a SCIF, though.) The intrusive background check and polygraph to get the clearance is the bad part. Some people I worked with in a SCIF didn't even have a poly, which surprised me. Back when I had a clearance, most work I did was outside a SCIF, but it really depended on the project I was working on.

Each one I've have at least one computer for each level of classication at my desk. The unclass computer which can connect to the internet, one secret computer and one top secret computer which are segmented.
