The mission of Woodlands Wildlife Refuge is the care and release of orphaned and injured native wildlife back to their natural habitat. We also provide educational programs about the habits and habitats of our local wildlife.

Founded in 1986, Woodlands Wildlife Refuge is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of New Jersey’s native mammals and reptiles. We provide specialized care to thousands of injured and orphaned wild animals each year, with the ultimate goal of returning them to their natural habitats.

Staff - Woodlands Wildlife Refuge
Wildlife Care and Volunteer Supervisor. Heather Freeman is the Wildlife Care and Volunteer Supervisor and one of the center’s licensed wildlife rehabilitators. Heather began in the field of wildlife rehabilitation in 2006 as a volunteer for Woodlands while earning her Bachelor Degree in Biology and finishing her military service.
