Considering the Wira was co-developed by Proton with Mitsubishi, the Wira shared a lot of DNA with the Lancer. It inherited the 4G series of engines, it used a very similar chassis and almost all Lancer parts were plug-and-play with the Wira.

The Wira is the only Proton model to be offered with a diesel engine, namely Mitsubishi's 2.0 L Sirius 4D68 in-line four engine. Proton needed a diesel engine to further establish themselves in Europe, where diesel engined passenger cars are popular.

Dec 22, 2003 · Wira can fit in Evo III engine. I've heard there's a Wira in JB with an intercooler hanging OUTSIDE the front bumper. Apparently used for sprints.

4wd conversion cost too much because there is a lot of modification needed. You need rear bracket subframe, gearbox mounting, crossmember, drive shaft. That is just the modification then you need engine whether its gsr or evo that is 1.8cc, cant 1.6 and you need 4wd gearbox. If you do start from scratch this will easily costed around 30k.

May 3, 2020 · Was thinking of wira all wheel drive with evo 3 engine. Gonna either buy and convert it to evo body. Anybody driving wira/satria with evo 3 engine? How is the reliability? Fuel consumption, spare parts, etc. Needed AWD for more traction and fun factor. Also, suitable for daily drive ah this car?

Aug 14, 2009 · All this conversion is not as easy because involve with body, chassis thing and involve with all engine mounting that have to change. Handling is also an issue even if the engine mounting is strong and balance, wear and tear will high mostly on the mounting, also might suffer with crack on your body.
