2024 has been a phenomenal year for the White Stork Project at Knepp. Our storks laid 90 eggs across 20 nests, leading to a record 53 chicks fledging. Nine of these young birds hatched from ground nests inside our holding pen of non-flying birds.

For the first time, a wild male hatched at Knepp in 2021 and seen in Morocco and Spain, returns in March 2024 and breeds, producing 2 young in an oak tree at Knepp. 9 storks in total are fitted with satellite tracking devices – 5 of these are from CWP and 4 are from Knepp.
