A white or silver car would probably only need waxed once or twice a year. Red and black fade in the sun. White and silver hold up to the sun’s UV rays better than red and black.

And relatively dark color (bright to dark red, bright to dark blue, dark greens, burnt orange, purple, etc) will look good with white; IMO, light colors like lime green or baby blue look odd as accents on a white car.

When there are not streetlights, you want to be able to be seen better by other cars at night. Also white reflects heat, therefore keeping the car cooler in hot areas and hot seasons.

Jul 29, 2008 · When I lived in Iowa, fly specs on my white car were a common problem. In Sacramento, I have not seen a fly spec for 30 years. The solution, then, is to move West. Failing that, keeping it waxed is your best defense.

Black shows dirt easy and reflects every imperfection. A slight ding on a new black car is very noticeable. On the other hand, a white car can look dirty (especially from bugs), but the white will hide a lot of imperfections. So a minor ding isn't as big of a deal. In the end, it's a car.

Nov 25, 2022 · When you spray base that has to be so thick, it really hurts the wavescan (gloss) so more clear is needed on whites. Then if you have a tri-coat white the mica layer just adds to the problem. If you have problems, you can only respray a white car twice before the vin number becomes unreadable. I've seen black cars resprayed 4x.
