Nobita Nobi (Japanese: 野比 のび太, Hepburn: Nobi Nobita) is a fictional character and one of the main characters in the Doraemon anime and manga series created by Fujiko Fujio. Known as Sidney, Specky and Noby in some English localizations of the anime, Nobita is usually depicted as an elementary school student.

In the first few stories of the manga, Nobita is implied to be nine years old. This is confirmed when in Memories of Grandma, Nobita and Doraemon go back to the time when Nobita was three years old. Nobita mentions that they have gone six years in the past, implying that he is currently nine.

Two of them have confirmed birthdays in the manga: Nobita's is on August 7 (according to "The Day I was Born") and Gian's is on June 15 (according to "ハッピーバースデイ・ジャイアン" or "Happy Birthday, Gian").

First serialized in 1969, the manga's chapters were collected in 45 tankōbon volumes published by Shogakukan from 1974 to 1996. The story revolves around an earless robotic cat named Doraemon, who travels back from the 22nd century to help a boy named Nobita Nobi. The manga spawned a media franchise.

Nobita Nobi is a normal fourth grade student. This all changes, however, when a blue robotic cat appears from his desk drawer. Calling himself Doraemon, this robot tells Nobita that his future descendants from the 22nd century live in poverty because of all the mistakes he made.
