Mar 27, 2011 · this is the weird fish with legs, this thing is feisty and was attacking the fishing pole as i tried to coerce it back into the weeds. i was fishing a small pumpkin colored worm on a jig head with a spinner attached to it. The sea robin hit it hard and practically at my feet. after I got it back to shore, I was amazed at what I had caught.
Does a Fresh Water Fish Have a "Mud Vein"? - Pier and Surf Forum
Oct 19, 2012 · It had a real 'dirt taste'. Some people have been telling me that this taste occurs when you cut the mud vein when cleaning the fish. However, when I cleaned the 15 inch crappy, it just smelled like a regular fish. Today, I caught a 9 inch crappy (same lake) and had it for lunch. It tasted great. Any thoughts on why the first fish tasted like mud?

Cleaning Fish at The Pier - Pier and Surf Forum
Dec 17, 2005 · ive always understood that the reason it was illegal was becuase the fish could not be measured properly if it was in pieces or missing pieces. ive always gutted and removed the gills (((which is legal))) but in no way do you want to remove any part of a regulated fish that would inhibit them from bein measured to insure that they are legal size. i have gotten away …

Jul 12, 2007 · ) and got a couple nice fish. 16" Flounder, same size Sheepshead, a couple 12" Mangrove Snappers, 15" Trout, a weird snake/fish/mini sea monster type thing (never seen one before), and about 4 flounder that came all the way to the boat and got off, I was having a hard time hooking them for some reason. All on live shrimp. Not too shabby!
Peak times vs reality at Oregon Inlet? | Pier and Surf Forum
Aug 4, 2024 · I've never fished there at Oregon Inlet, but have seen some weird tides in other places. Tides happen due to gravitational affects, and those charts don't usually take weather factors into account. Even weather hundreds of miles away can affect some tides in some places, because of amounts of rain and wind directions, that may be dumped in ...

Help, jelly fish sting - Pier and Surf Forum
Aug 2, 2008 · Actually Ryan, thats the weird thing is there were/are no welts. When I first got out of the water there were little white almost clear "strings" on my ankles. Covered my ankles and shins with sandy mud and that seemed to help until I washed it off. Saw plenty of jelly fish but most were on or near the top and easy to scoot around.
