Asylum is a small to medium-sized multiplayer map in Call of Duty: World at War. Asylum is a little like Showdown, but much more extensive. It is also something of a successor to Vacant, due to the long and sharp angled corridors and line of sight orientation, as well as embellished on side...

This map is perhaps most closely related to Vacant from Modern Warfare, with its small array of corridors and large main room where most of the action and intense fighting occurs.

Trees, barns, and farmland for as far as the eye can see is the only thing on the outside of Asylum. The sign on the wall in the map says “Geisteskrankes asyl von deutschland” and translates to “Mentally ill asylum from Germany”. This sign is also seen in the campaign.
