Since it is impossible to know the temp of the inside of an egg without breaking the shell, the water wiggler is the next best thing.

Jun 14, 2009 · Just started up the incubator 2 days before setting the eggs in & wanted to use a "water wiggler/weazel/snake" with a glass thermometer for another temperature guage, for the first time. The wiggler was brand new when put into the heated bator & gave off a heavy plastic smell, but a little less smelly after 2 days.

Apr 16, 2009 · The water wiggler is supposed to give you a more accurate idea of the temp inside the eggs instead of the air temp in the bator. I don't have one but I might try this it to see if it shows any different reading than my other 2 thermometers.
