Scar1 and the related Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome protein, WASP, …
Dec 31, 1998 · The perinuclear filamentous actin structures also contained the Arp2/3 complex, as visualized with an anti-p34- Arc antibody, and WASP, as visualized with an anti-Myc epitope antibody.
WASP-34 b - Science@NASA
Oct 24, 2024 · WASP-34 b is a gas giant exoplanet that orbits a G-type star. Its mass is 0.56 Jupiters, it takes 4.3 days to complete one orbit of its star, and is 0.0524 AU from its star. Its discovery was announced in 2010.
JCI - Mycolactone activation of Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome proteins ...
Mar 15, 2013 · Mycolactone is a diffusible lipid secreted by the human pathogen Mycobacterium ulcerans, which induces the formation of open skin lesions referred to as Buruli ulcers. Here, we show that mycolactone operates by hijacking the Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome protein (WASP) family of actin-nucleating factors.
The Interaction between N-WASP and the Arp2/3 Complex Links …
Apr 16, 1999 · N-WASP, a ubiquitously expressed Cdc42-interacting protein, is required for Cdc42-stimulated actin polymerization in Xenopus egg extracts. The C terminus of N-WASP binds to the Arp2/3 complex and dramatically stimulates its ability to nucleate actin polymerization.
Scar1 or WASP in cells caused a disruption in the localization of the Arp2/3 complex and, concomitantly, induced a complete loss of lamellipodia and actin spots.
Scar, a WASp-related protein, activates nucleation of actin …
Machesky and Insall discovered two potential endogenous regulators of the Arp2/3 complex: WASp, the protein responsible for Wiskott–Aldrich Syndrome, and a related protein, Scar. Both WASp and Scar bind the p21 subunit of the Arp2/3 complex.
N-WASP regulates extension of filopodia and processes by ...
We also demonstrate that p34 (a component of the Arp2/3 complex), WASP/WAVE proteins, actin, alpha-tubulin, Rac, Cdc42, vinculin, and focal adhesion kinase are detected in water-shocked myelin purified from brain.
Reconstitution of human Arp2/3 complex reveals critical roles of ...
Arp3 is crucial for nucleation, consistent with it being a structural component of the nucleation site. p41, p21, and p16 contribute differently to nucleation and stimulation by ActA and WASP, whereas p34/p20 bind actin filaments and likely function in actin branching.

Dec 31, 1998 · The perinuclear filamentous actin structures also contained the Arp2/3 complex, as visualized with an anti-p34- Arc antibody, and WASP, as visualized with an anti-Myc epitope antibody.
A Neural Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein-mediated Pathway …
Feb 18, 2005 · Here we show that the actin polymerization is dependent upon activation of the Arp2/3 complex by neural Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome protein (N-WASP) via Grb2 and Nck2. Suppression of Grb2 or Nck2 results in loss of localization of N-WASP at the activation site and reduced actin polymerization.
