US label; better known as "Wand Records". Originally a division of Scepter Records, founded in 1961 by Florence Greenberg, hence also credited as Scepter-Wand Records, Scepter/Wand Records, Scepter and Wand Records or as the Scepter-Wand Organization during the 60s.

Wand Records was an American independent record label, started by Florence Greenberg in 1961 as a subsidiary of Scepter Records. [1] Artists on Wand Records included The Isley Brothers, The Kingsmen, Mel Wynn & the Rhythm Aces, Chuck Jackson, and the Monzas.

Scepter Records was an American record company founded in 1959 by Florence Greenberg. Florence Greenberg founded Scepter Records from the $4,000 she received after she sold Tiara Records and the Shirelles to Decca Records. When the Shirelles didn't produce any hits for Decca, they were given back to Greenberg, who promptly signed them. [1]

Apr 8, 2009 · The address under the Wand logo was "1650 Broadway, New York, N.Y." in the early days, and "254 W. 54th St., N.Y., N.Y." for most of the life of the label.
