I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Merced. Prior to joining UC Merced, I worked at the University of Northern British Columbia (2018-2023) and was a postdoc at McGill University (2014-2018) working with Jean-Christophe Nave and Gantumur Tsogtgerel.

Research – Andy Wan
My research goals are to develop structure-preserving numerical methods and to understand their fundamental properties, with the aim at improving long-term prediction and accuracy. Currently, I work on conservative discretizations for ordinary and partial differential equations arising from the Mathematical Sciences.
