Jan 11, 2025 · A little bit of an odd question for this forum, but . . . I'm in Lafayette trying to listen to WWL 870 AM. There is a warble in the audio at my QTH. So I changed to a SDR in Mississippi. Same warble only not as bad. Q: do you hear a warble on 870 WWL? Thanks

Sep 3, 2005 · It has done an excellent job of following WWL-870 as well as some HF traffic from that area. I can compare it to the Grundig YB400PE which was my first SSB-capable radio. The Sony's SSB reception is much clearer and it has excellent sensitivity for receiving the lower powered signals you'll usually find using SSB.

Mar 30, 2025 · On 870 khz mediumwave, WWL's signal frequently has a "warble" sound accompanying it. There are numerous discussions about the "warbler" online, and the conclusion reached by some is that Cuba's Radio Reloj on 870 may be the cause due to transmitter problems. You can often hear WWL and Radio Reloj together if you tune to 870 khz.
