Wildlife Management Unit 508 aerial ungulate survey (2018-19)
Results from a February 2019 aerial ungulate survey conducted in the Lac La Nonne Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 508 in Alberta’s Upper Athabasca Region. The primary objective of the 2018-2019 survey was to assess the status of the moose population by determining estimates for abundance, density and age-sex composition.

Weestimated the white-tailed deer population in WMU 508 to be between 1,867 and 3,328individuals (Table 12). However, because our target level of confidence was not attained (±28.1%), this population estimate must be interpreted cautiously.
