So, as long as WMR works on your WMR headset, so will Steam VR. When WMR stops working, steam VR will stop working on the WMR headset too. However, you can keep using WMR at least till November 2026 as long as you don't update to Windows 11 24H2 (comment link). Dec 21, 2023 · The problem was not separating the driver side from the virtual desktop stuff, as that meant non-WMR headsets could never access WMR Portal. I had hoped that they allow OpenXR for that eventually, but that never happened, despite otherwise being pretty early with OpenXR support on WMR.

Mar 16, 2023 · Otherwise I use steam vr. If you enable open xr games like pistol whip run wrong. It loses predictive tracking so doesn't track at all outside of view of the cameras, plus the fps goes weird. Switching back to steam vr fixes it. I don't know if any other games have similar issues but I would rather stick with what works. Tested, tried and true ...

Dec 18, 2020 · I just got my Reverb G2, and am finding WRM very confusing. When I click on a VR youtube video with an Oculus, it will automatically open the video in VR. When I try from WMR home, it will open the video in my Chrome browser, but it won't be in VR, and there seems to be no way to get it there. It just plays the video from the browser.

Jul 23, 2022 · Never had any problems with DEO VR. It's also free. I'd call it VR's VLC player. I've yet to encounter a VR video it won't play. Also, if you're having stuttering with a modern GPU with UHD+ video, it might help to install the HEVC codec from MS. I installed it a while back and 5k+ video became a lot more stable.
