133 is an NG15 Locomotive awaiting rebuild for use on the Welsh Highland Railway. 133 was built by Société Anglo-Franco-Belge for South African Railways (SAR) to their NG15 class 2-8-2 design. 133 is from the third batch of NG15s built in 1952. It carries builder's number 2683.

The locomotive is being restored to working order at the Welsh Highland Railway's Dinas works. It is a restoration process with much of the work being conducted by volunteers with extra skilled machining help being provided by the company.

Feb 16, 2025 · The NG15s, also sometimes known as Kalaharis, were popular engines with their South Africa crews and were capable of stable running in both forward and reverse. This has led to them being regarded as an ideal choice for the WHR.

The new tank was duly delivered in April 2012 and after delivery resided on NG15 №133's chassis whilst our own was being refurbished. With №134's chassis complete the tender body was moved over onto its own chassis during the May 2022 working party.

Loco no. 133 is on view at Dinas. Both locos were built in Belgium in 1953, at the La Croyère works of the Société Anglo-Franco-Belge. The name Springbok which was chalked on the engine for a time is thought to be unofficial!
