Nov 20, 2019 · When the NHL mercifully added four of the surviving six teams in June of 1979, WHA fans were left holding a mixed bag of memories and a legacy of team logos that ranged from enduring to downright childish.

After the 1978-79 season, the league merged with the National Hockey League with four teams - Edmonton Oilers, New England Whalers, Quebec Nordiques and the Winnipeg Jets - joining the NHL.
