Mar 22, 2015 · I have one scope for jacket shooting and put on a elcheapo simmons for cast shooting. I have no problems with maintaining zero on remounts. Matter of fact one vz has 4 different barrels for it and I have a dedicated scope for each barrel thanks to the weaver mounts. Love the smoothness of those vz-24's!!

VZ.24, SN matches except for the bolt SN YR 18*** The tag with the gun lists it as a R1952G 8MM and the shop sold me 8X57J Mauser ammo for it. Is it common on these Brno mauser’s to have this recessed muzzle and if so how do you slug a barrel without the slug hanging on the rifling.

Oct 31, 2024 · Nice looking rifle. I really like VZ-24s--very well made. As for the mounting problem, having been a gunsmith in a past life for over 30 years, I can testify that fitting scope mounts to rifles, especially custom rifles, can be challenging and an entire science itself.

Jul 20, 2016 · I have a BRNO VZ 24 8X57 that my uncle brought back from WWII. His brother, another uncle "sporterized" it by removing the hand-guard and filling in the holes for sling etc. It doesn't look bad. He did a pretty good job. I have given the gun to my grandson and he wants to put a scope on it without drilling and tapping and altering the bolt handle.

I do shoot cast out of a SMLE 303, so I do have some experience. I would like to use the Lee push through sizer but see it is only avalible in .323. Can I increase the size of the die?

Nov 13, 2009 · The VZ 24 fireing pin is shorter than a 98K pin of which I had one handy. So I cut new notches where the cocking piece locks on with a dremmel tool grinder and cut off the rear of the pin with a hack saw.
