I am neutral towards Volvo but liked the ad because the picture, at least to me, makes it pretty obvious that it is a word play. I do see your point, though. To me this reminded of Patagonia's famous "don't buy this jacket" ad from a couple of years ago, which was a great success without a doubt. I think this is a similar attempt.

Nov 6, 2020 · Granola northwestern is over done. If I was an ad or marketing company I would NOT go to NYC or the west coast for ideas. You can tell some 24 year old fresh out of art school, with NO clue about real families, is creating ads for multimillion dollar companies. Only Target can compete with volvo for the worst ads out of touch with Americans.

Apr 5, 2021 · Just saw a Volvo ad using Blue Monday. No voiceover, just the song from beginning to end of commercial. Made me want a Volvo except I'm not buying... Only worst ad appropriation was Iggy's Lust for Life used for some other car commercial. I remember reading that Iggy had no control over it, so I'm guessing the same is true for NO.

I was just talking to my Volvo mechanic about that yesterday. She said buy the plug-in hybrid for now, but avoid the EV for at least 5 years. To quote her, "That EV isn't good enough yet." I'm a Volvo girl. Convinced my mom to buy an S40 10 years ago because of the safety rating. God that car was amazing.

Oct 25, 2017 · The ABCs of death was a movie. Also, Volvo never uses just the text for their name. They always use the logo. The people who made the video though did contact Volvo to get the car and the ability to use the logo/name. Though Volvo did not advertise the video themselves. This is all most likely because of the morbid nature and suicide mention.
