Volvo's paint codes were changed from December 1988. Both solvent and water based paints are now used on cars. In order to easily identity extra digits have been introduced which indicate if the paint is solvent or water based or has another quality. Exmple: 850 has the paint code 189-21.

If it is an OEM green cap they are pretty bullet proof but there is no patent on the blue/green color so you never know. The lockup code is usually a lockup solenoid failure (SL). Getting the pan off to get to them is a pain but it can be done.

332 is for a lock up solenoid, 323 is a gear ratio fault, and 113 is a fuel injector code, 113 means the fuel computer had problems with the circuit and trying to fire one of the injectors.

Jun 5, 2018 · I wouldn’t go too much on names either as 480 Europe call 323 Dark Grey Metallic, Volvo owners call it Storm Grey Metallic and some other places call it Dark Grey Pearl. But as jifflemon says use the whole code as it can make a difference.
