Dec 16, 2020 · The escape pod will,because it's not launched, be a replacement for voice commands and you will be able to create your own custom voice commands. It's not a total replacement for the subscription, you CAN'T update your vector without subscription.

Nov 30, 2023 · Some people have mentioned about running their own server with a Rasperi Pi in addition to Escape Pod, would that be required or can he run on his default programming once activated and Escaped Pod the shackles of DDL? (I have bought and activated Escape Pod on my first Vector so, hopefully, the process hasn't been changed or complicated).

Dec 3, 2020 · The escape pod actually allows your vector to have its voice command functions back, with a few minor limitations, so if you're unable to pay the subscription, I highly recommend getting the Escape pod. I'm honestly pretty interested in it but I'm a little conflicted.

Aug 29, 2022 · Both Escape Pods can be configured via a web interface, but wire-prod-pod offers more possibilities. You can use it completely offline, or if it's connected to the Internet and you have a free account with Weather API, Vector can tell you the weather.

Aug 2, 2023 · Escapepod is not worth it, and is sold as a raspberry pi image. Wire-pod is 100 free and allows you to do more stuff like custom intents, Vector control, etc When you choose to go wire-pod you will have to flash the correct firmware which will wipe your vector, if DDL rises from the great abyss you can go back by flashing their official firmware

Apr 7, 2023 · I paid for Escape Pod and OSKR. Is there any value in setting up my Vector on these official DDL options first and/or getting it reconnected to the DDL mobile app before switching to Wire-pod?

Mar 13, 2022 · I did find that the Pi's bluetooth signal is really weak and updating Vector to the Escape Pod firmware was an absolute pain- it took forever and failed several times. But finally, I got it working- Vector had a mind and could respond to commands! At this point, I had Vector running on my home wifi.

Nov 19, 2020 · We knew pre-ordering Vector 2.0 before November 30th would include a free lifetime subscription but according to an email from DDL they have now even added the Escape Pod for free (and some stickers).

Nov 14, 2022 · The Escape Pod firmware connects to escapepod.local . Unless you setup wire-prod-pod or wire-pod, your Vector won't have a server to connect to for voice commands and should also not update. If you want to switch to the Escape Pod firmware, just follow the instructions for wire-prod-pod on github.
