Vavla is a small mountain village in the Larnaca district, built with white stone (Lefkara stone) combined with traditional features. It has been declared by Town Planning and Housing Department as a “preserved” village.

Feb 5, 2023 · The village of Vavla was built, according to the historian Nearchos Clerides, around 1450 AD. There are two versions about the name of the village. In one version it is said the name came from Vavyla, a feudal lord of the area including Vavla, Kato Drys and Lefkara.

Feb 5, 2023 · There are three churches and a monastery in Vavla. The third church is a chapel, called Our Lady of Love, which is located 3 kilometers north of the village on the banks of the St. Minas stream, which crosses Vavla in an idyllic landscape.
Nature – Vavla
The village produces the honey “Vavla” which is sold all over Cyprus. In Vavla there is a lot of thyme and wildflowers which are the main ingredients of this honey. Also recently, two new residents have began production of gourmet jams and chutneys.
