The Alilaguna boat is a nice alternative to the airport bus to the Piazzale Roma and subsequent vaporetto. The fare is 15Euro. The Alilaguna boats do not stop at several of the available vaporetto stops.

I always get a pass in Veince. It makes life a lot easier. You can buy it outside at the train station, or at any vaporetto stop with a ticket vending machine.

We bought ours in advance (through the Venezia Unica site) and picked up at the kiosks near the Piazzale Roma docks. There are many pick up locations. When you purchase, you get a booking code. You enter the code at the kiosks and it prints out your tickets.
