Valeska Grisebach (born 4 January 1968) is a German film director. She was born in Bremen. [1] She is considered part of the Berlin School of filmmaking.

Valeska Grisebach was born on 4 January 1968 in Bremen, West Germany [now Germany]. She is a director and writer, known for Western (2017), Sehnsucht (2006) and Be My Star (2001).

After having studied Philosophy and German studies in Berlin, Munich and Vienna, Valeska Grisebach trained to become a director at the Film Academy Vienna, under Peter Patzak, Wolfgang Glück and Michael Haneke.

Western is a 2017 internationally co-produced drama film written, produced, and directed by Valeska Grisebach. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. [1][2] The film has been well received by critics.
