Jan 6, 2003 · Lay the gun on its side and sweet talk the little woman into the garage. Get a screwdriver with a long shank preferably one with flat sides. Her thumb wont have the power to push in that spring long enough for you to get the band off, (neither will yours) lay the screwdriver across the spring that needs compressed with the shank in the middle ...

VZ24 Czech Mauser, Seeking Info on This Ex-Sniper
Nov 9, 2009 · I have seen Yugo sniper rifles of the VZ24/ k98k configuration with milled receivers and modern scopes similar to the ones one would find on a Romanian PSL 54. I would guess this could be the answer to your rifle. A VZ24 milled and fitted with a "modern" scope for use as a sniper rifle in either the Czech or Yugo conflicts of post Warsaw Pact ...
Japanese Czech 1937 VZ 24 - C+R Gun Collector Forums - Tapatalk
Jan 30, 2003 · Many of the CZ Vz24 P-series 1937 rifles were captured by Chinese units and used by both sides during the revolution (1945-49). The "Characters" on the Butt are Chinese, NOT Japanese. These Characters refer to "People's Militia" use post-1949, or may also refer to local area use during the revolution.
How do I disassemble my VZ24 (or other Mauser)? - Tapatalk
Mar 30, 2003 · Put the flat piece of wood (or something suitable) under the gun on the opposite side from the spring, but not touching the band. This is to protect your stock on the other side from the "C" clamp. with the stock protected, place the clamp on the spring and tighten it up until the metal button in the band dips down far enough to clear.
VZ-24.....7x57! - The Curio and Relic Firearms Forum - Tapatalk
Jan 27, 2004 · I have a Guatemalan VZ24 in 7mm with a Guatemalan crest. The VZ's were used quite a bit in South America by Bolivia (7.65mm), Brazil (Sao Paulo revolutionaries, standard 3 line CZ crest), Equador (7.65mm), Nicaragua (circle within a circle crest), Peru (7.65mm), and Venezuela (7mm, standard CZ markings).
VZ24 BRNO Czech No Crest? - The Curio and Relic Firearms Forum …
May 18, 2005 · It's more likely that your VZ24 was a Romanian contract rifle. I had one with no crest. I don't know about it being a Russian capture though (it'll have a "X" proof stamped on top of the reciever somewhere)... I haven't seen a Romanian VZ24 yet, in person, that had the Romanian crest intact. The rifle I had didn't have a scrubbed crest either.
