Nov 20, 2015 · TFSI and TSI are different generations of the direct injection platform. It is found in the VW line too. Earlier models had issues with cam followers and a few other things. Most were resolved with the introduction of the TFSI from about MK5.5 and on, I'm sure someone can tell you the exact timing.

Recently did maintenance for: New PCV Valve, New Intake Manifold, new fuel injectors, new high pressure fuel pump and cam follower, intake valve carbon cleaning and new spark plugs. Gives me cylinder 2 & 4 misfire (P0302 & P0304)

Sep 8, 2019 · No, it's not. It's actually one of the worst engines VW has used in modern history. Cam follower/hpfp/chain problems, significant oil consumption problems, poor oil cooler/filter housing design, poor balance shaft/oil pump design, etc. It was only used in the US for ~3 model years as BPY in part due to those issues.

Dec 25, 2012 · VW switched over to TSI around 09-ish due to reliability issues with the FSI. If you're saying that the FSI 2.0T that comes in the early Mk5 GTI's is non-turbo, then you must be looking at the wrong information.
