Jul 20, 2015 · VW wants to replace everything in the fuel system when the HPFP goes to be on the safe side. I did this same repair for about $1,500 DIY. I found Ebay to be a great place to shop for VW parts (New).

Feb 8, 2011 · The HPFP is operated by the timing belt and pressurizes fuel being delivered to the common fuel rail which makes high pressure fuel available to all injectors at all times. Pressuers in the accumulator (fuel rail) can reach over 1800 bar / 26,000 PSI. Does anyone have a good diagram of the VW CR TDI fuel system? If so, please send a PM.

What I do want is a thread focused on replacing the HPFP, a DIY step-by-step instruction, associated parts, etc. that would be helpful to us. The pre-filter I mentioned is that little 1"x1" flat object just before the HPFP. It's mentioned in the VW CR 2.0 Engine guide.

Jan 4, 2021 · Are there any symptoms to the hpfp going bad? My 2011 has been studdering once in a while this past week. It feels like when you are driving on a wet road and hit a puddle that momentarily slows the vehicle down. Lasts maybe a 1/4 of a second.

Jan 14, 2017 · I WAS happy with my 2015 Sportwagen until the engine stopped running while on the highway 200 miles from home on Dec 31. (Manual, 19months old, 27000 miles) A dealership in CT says the HPFP failed and sent shards through the fuel system requiring every part be replaced. (Which I see is consistent with the HPFP failure on the previous TDI engine.)

Sep 4, 2015 · VW must know something as they just mailed a notice recently to select owners of 2009 & 2010 CR TDI's in the mail. I received one for each car and the HPFP literally went out within 2 weeks of receiving that note. I just put a 2microntech contain filter on the car still running as a just in case measure.
