I've seen mixed reviews on the prevalent aftermarket names you see kicking about, MTEC, TORAX, etc... and the options are overwhelming.

Oct 13, 2018 · Feel your pain with the rough idle, perhaps there is a leak on the OEM PCV breather hose? I have put a link to an uprated breather hose by ECS on the Awesome GTI site, check out the review at the bottom of the page as it mentions the same characteristics of a rough idle which was solved by changing out this part.

Aug 14, 2018 · My Mk 7.5 R wagon was built in June 2017, but is classed (by VW) as a MY18. It arrived in Australia in September 2017. IIRC the US received the Mk 7.5 R update well after other countries. I thought all Mk 7 & 7.5 Golf Rs had a drive mode button (next to the shift lever, allowing you to choose between Eco, Comfort, Normal, Race & Individual modes).

Mar 9, 2015 · That'll be £60 at Costco as you'll need 2 cans - the MK7 has a big sump. My Scirocco took 4.6l of oil, the MK7 takes 5.7l. Fully synthetic oil of any 502/507 compliant spec will be more than adequate for 10k miles following top up or a run-in oil change.

Feb 17, 2018 · I have put a deposit down on a R over the phone with VW in Crawley. Just wondering if the MK7 burns oil like my old S3 8P? I know a lot of S3 owners say the engines burn 1 litre every 1000 miles on average.
